Teak folding shower seat

This kind of shower stool requires you to have enough space in your bathroom or the tub. It does not have legs because you mount it to the wall. You can fold it and then collapse it when you have finished using it. It is mainly made from teak wood hence the name.

Tile corner style

If you love the idea of building a shower stool against the wall, especially if you lack space, then you should try the tile corner. What to consider before building

If you want to make a shower stool or even buy one, then there are some essential things that you have to consider.

Height of the stool

Different models differ in height, and the minimum and maximum heights also range differently. That is why it is essential to choose one that takes care of your height needs. Make or buy a shower stool that is not too high or too low for you.

Width of the seat

If you are using the stool to sit on, you have to make sure that it has a wide surface area. It should have a wide seat and a broad base so that you get full support. That way, the stool will not tip over when you use it or if you don’t sit in the middle.

Stability

Before making a shower stool, you have to keep in mind its stability. Giving it four legs instead of three will guarantee that the seat is stable. Another way to ensure that it is stable is by giving it a broader base and making the stool a bit heavy.

Seat padding

If you have a problem with skin tears and pressure sores, you should include padding in your shower stools. If you don’t need the padding, don’t get it because they dry out and eventually crack. That means you have to replace the stool sooner than you expected.

Summing Up

As long as you have the required items, it is possible to make one yourself. If you are not sure how to do it, then you can look for easy-to-follow instructions. All the best as you try to make a shower stool for your bathroom.
